A long-standing empty bar in Livonia is about to fill up.
Plans are underway to convert the former assets of Doc’s Sports Retreat in 19265 Victor Parkway into a new dual motorcycle dealership. The existing construction would be demolished, making way for a new facility with the logo that would house the Ducati and BMW motorcycle dealerships.
“Under this proposal, the construction of the dining venue, which measures approximately 14,500 square feet, would be demolished and replaced with a 26,000-square-foot construction that would house two motorcycle dealerships, Ducati and BMW Motorrad,” said Mark Taormina, City Manager. Preparation of plans and economic development.
The issue was addressed through the city’s planning commission at its Oct. 25 meeting.
The development, said Charlie Knoll, who would own and operate any of the concessionaires, would set a record for the number of concessionaires that would contain the buildings.
“The concept of all this is to build a facility, which would really be the largest BMW Motorrad dealership in the US. The U. S. as well as the largest Ducati dealership in the U. S. “It’s the U. S. government right now,” he said.
The new construction would mean the relocation of two Detroit Metro concessionaires. BMW Motorcycles of southeast Michigan in Sheldon in Plymouth Township and the Ducati dealership in Woodward in Birmingham would move to the Livonia site.
The drawing up commission unanimously approved the plans, sending them to the city council for review and approval.

The motorcycle dealership seems to mean that previous plans for the site have been replaced. After Doc’s Sports Retreat shut down in 2018, “bigger and better” things were planned. First, a pair of six-story hotels were proposed for the assets along the site. , which is obvious by the symptoms originally placed on the assets. A sign announcing the proposed zoning replacement was removed and remained in the asset parking lot since Nov. 1.
One of the issues discussed the direction prospective buyers would take when taking a motorcycle for a test drive. not the motive force sought to drive the road.
“My goal is to get him out of Victor Parkway as temporarily as possible,” Knoll said. right on Seven Mile Road to Northville Road. “
