Credit cards are ready, my friends, because Lexus opens the order books for his charming LC convertible on August 5. But a lucky few have already taken one of them: an LC Convertible Regatta Edition. A small number of them come to the UK and we all talk about it.
The Regatta edition is intended to “evoke the atmosphere of a luxury marina, covered with offshore yachts,” Lexus says. His ‘Structural Blue’ paint uses microparticles for greater depth, while the incredibly bright white leather and dark blue interior are meant to highlight the ‘harmony between the interior and exterior of the car’.
Mechanically, it’s the same as the popular LC convertible, with a 5.0-liter nat-asp V8 that generates 471 horsepower and 398 pound-feet of torque, and a ten-speed automatic gearbox that drives the rear wheels. It weighs 100 kg more than the LC coupe, however, Lexus says it’s still quite fun to drive thanks to structural and suspension changes.
It’s not that this thing pretends to be “fun” to drive in the classic sense of the word, it’s a cruise and a very nice model. Interested parties can book a lc convertible in Lexus starting tomorrow, August 5, and are expected to get their new car in the fall.
