NASHVILLE, Tenn. (WTVF) — A strength and conditioning coach at Franklin Road Academy says his current assignment has helped prepare him for an amazing purpose he’s about to achieve. There is a clever explanation for why this.
“I’m just looking to put in as many hours as possible,” said Addrian Frederick, just before resuming his motorcycle training. “I’m just looking to get used to riding my bike for six to eight hours straight. It’s going to be very hot in Florida, so I’m looking to prepare my body for that. “
To perceive the adventure he is about to undertake, we will have to perceive why he does it. Addrian’s mother’s call is Sophie.
“I grew up with my brother and sister,” Addrian said. My mom was a single mom. He worked on all of those jobs to help us. We never knew we didn’t have a lot of money. We had what we needed. She believed deeply in God, and that’s when I got my religion. “
“The monkey, he drew it on the refrigerator before he left our dinner list and went to work,” Addrian said, referring to a small monkey tattoo on his forearm.
“She was diagnosed with breast and lung cancer in September 2022,” she continued. “He died on November 28. It was quick. “
In memory of his mother, on June 19, Addrian will go to his mother’s grave in Indiana and travel by bike to Miami, Florida.
“We’ll say a little prayer before we hit the road,” Addrian said. “I will wear a bracelet with his ashes. He tried to go to the beach one more time before he died. That’s how we’ll go through to make sure that happens. “
Addrian said that would be equivalent to about 1,500 miles traveled. He hopes to do it in about 20 days.
Along the way, Addrian will raise money for organizations that help single mothers and families in need through the Community Foundation of Middle Tennessee.
“I feel like she’s with me,” Addrian said. She observes. I see it in others. We can give back in his honor. “
Addrian said it would be documented on Instagram in @sophssquad. If you would like to make a donation, please stop here.
