Hayfield man charged with criminal driving after motorcycle accident

(ABC 6 News) – A Hayfield guy made an impression in Dodge County Court on Monday, August 12 on charges similar to those from a motorcycle accident in July.

Devon Michael Miles, 26, charged with criminal operation of a vehicle: significant bodily injury, under the influence of alcohol and a misdemeanor driving offense after his license was revoked following an incident on Center Avenue, Hayfield, on July 28.

According to court documents, Dodge County deputies responded to the scene of the crash and discovered one person lying on the ground, bleeding from the head and with rashes on much of his body.

According to court documents, authorities concluded that the woman was on a motorcycle driven by Miles.

Miles told cops he felt the woman let go of him, turned to grab her, but slammed the front brake and turned around.

An initial breathalyzer check indicated Miles’ blood alcohol content was 0. 127 shortly after the crash, according to court documents.

Officers also noticed that the motorcycle Miles was riding had no license plate, and Miles said he did not have a driver’s license, according to court documents.

Miles was taken to the hospital for medical discharge and then taken into custody.

He is scheduled to appear at an initial hearing on October 23.
