ATHOL – Last week, Selectboard members were taken to new owners of Blue Jay Botanicals, a marijuana retail company with plans to open a store in the formerly occupied through Victory Lane Motors.
Attorney Phil Silverman, representing Blue Jay, provided the main points on property replacement.
“This advice will possibly remember,” he began, “that in January 2019, a host network agreement was reached between the city and Blue Jay Botanicals to operate a marijuana retail facility at 22 Chestnut Hill Avenue. Since then, and this is not in the hash industry in Massachusetts: there have been movements and a new team has arrived to take over this specific company.
“This equipment is known as Our LLC. It’s a company that does things in Somerville and Cambridge in terms of running there.
“Society is also a candidate for the economic empowerment of the Cannabis Control Commission, and it is also a company owned by women.”
He said the site’s former owners, Chuck and Cindy Hartwell of New Salem, decided that they may not complete the procedure and contacted Silverman’s law firm for help finding a client for their business.
“They said, “Look, we still think it’s a smart location. It’s an opportunity, but we don’t have to move forward. Can you help us locate an organization that has the monetary capacity to move forward, the experience and, frankly, that fits the city well? »
Silverman brought to the Board of Directors Ivelisse Rivera, CEO of Nuestra, who is active in the Red Sox Foundation and in various organizations, and Chief Operating Officer Jonathan Tucker
“We are not looking to give this guest contract to a new company. It’s Blue Jay. So, technically, I don’t think it’s a matter of approval, but we seek to give you a point of comfort.”
Tucker added that the company strives to offer more than a decent salary as well as opportunities to move forward.
“We have very friendly genuine real estate agents who will be pleased with you when you need to come here and make it your home,” concluded board president Rebecc Bialecki.
