Hancock County Sheriff’s Day Week, August 20

ELLSWORTH – A man was arrested after Hancock County Sheriff’s officers investigated a two-man bout in Dedham on Saturday.

Deputy Marcus Downes arrested Jonathan Cronin, 33, of New Hampshire for a domestic violence attack rate.

“I attended the scene through Lieutenant Corey Bagley, Deputy Jeff McFarland and Private Dana Austin,” Downes said.

More rounds

Deputy Jeff McFarland is investigating an attack he reported Sunday to the Holden Police Department. A woman from Dedham went to the station to report that her ex-wife and friend attacked her.

“The ex-husband and friend were in the Holden Police Department, so I spoke there to meet with them,” McFarland said.

Detective Franklin Jennings is investigating an attack that allegedly took place in Dedham on August 13.

Accidents

A car went off the road and crashed head-on into a pole after a motorist had a medical consultation on Mines Road on Blue Hill on Sunday.

Kathryn O’Rourke, 48, was driving a Kia Soul 2020, which was a general loss, said DEPUTY Travis Frost.

O’Rourke put on his seat belt and was taken to Northern Light Blue Hill Hospital for evaluation. “None of his injuries endangered his life, ” said Frost.

A car left the road, crossed a lawn and crashed into a construction site after a man from Hancock had a medical occasion as he headed east on Highway 1 in Hancock on Monday, Deputy Brian Archer said.

Jason Sargent, 52, was driving a 2004 Buick Sedan, who suffered several injuries, Archer said.

Sargent was not injured in the accident, but was taken to hospital for examination, the MP said.

Fraud

On Friday, a boy from Deer Isle informed police of a scam on The Marketplace’s Facebook site. The guy will tell the social media company about the incident.

Mental problems

Bagley and McFarland went to a penobscot apartment on Friday for a report on a suicidal man, who was then taken to the hospital for evaluation.

On Sunday, Downes went to Franklin’s apartment for a report on a suicidal guy. The guy agreed to go to the hospital and be transported through Northern Light Ambulance, the MP said.

A boy from Sedgwick told Hancock County Regional Communications Center that his wife had texted him threatening to kill himself on August 13. The boy called again soon after to tell him that his wife was with a friend and that he would spend the night, McFarland said.

911 hang up calls

McFarland went to Brooksville and Penobscot on Friday to two 911 calls, which turned out to be mistakes.

Noise problem

A boy from Orland complained about the loud music of a nearby asset on Saturday night. McFarland said the challenge was ongoing and the sheriff’s workplace had filed several noise complaints. McFarland warned a guy it was music and agreed to turn it down.

Bridge jump

A woman driving down Falls Bridge Road in Blue Hill on August 13 reported what she thought were two young men jumping off the bridge into the water and concerned about their safety.

McFarland contacted others on the deck for swimming and surfing. “I told them they were teenagers and they left before I got here,” he said.
