Clear improvement in segments C and above: five issues at 41% of Group sales

Additional optimization of the advertising policy

This advertising policy is reinforced by the good fortune of the new products, which Groupe Renault consolidates its leadership in hybrid and electric mobility:

Groupe Renault confirms its monetary outlook for 2022

Groupe Renault will present, at its Capital Market Day on November 8, 2022, Chapter 2 of its Renaulution strategy as an update of its medium-term monetary outlook

“Groupe Renault is developing quarter after quarter. The expansion of the business in the third quarter continues to reflect our value-focused advertising policy, which has been in position for 2 years: improving the pricing policy, optimizing advertising discounts and prioritizing the most successful channels. The Group is also beginning to capitalize on the renewal of diversity with the promising start of the Renault Mégane E-tech Electric and the successful launch of the Dacia Jogger. The Renault Austral, recently released, reinforces the Group’s return to the C segment. These are all levers that drive the Group’s competitiveness and will enable us to achieve our 2022 targets as we look forward to unveiling new medium-term ambitions at our Capital Market Day on November 8,” said Thierry Piéton, Chief Financial Officer of Groupe Renault.

Boulogne-Billancourt, 21 October 2022

Business Results: Third Quarter Highlights

Groupe Renault, in a context still affected by the semiconductor crisis, sold 481,000 cars in the third quarter of 2022, 2. 4% less than the third quarter of 2021.

Groupe Renault continues its value-oriented advertising policy, which is reflected in an increase in its sales mix in the most successful channels. Among the five most sensitive European countries (France, Germany, Spain, Italy, United Kingdom), the percentage of sales to retail consumers represents 70% in the third quarter of 2022 (compared to 64% in 2021).

The Renault logo is strengthening its position in Europe in the electrified market with E-tech diversity, which accounts for 38% of its passenger car sales in the first nine months of the year, up to 12 issues until 2021, in a market that has 28% electrified. Mégane E-tech Electric has already recorded more than 37,000 orders since its launch in the second quarter, 75% of which are for the top versions and 85% for the maximum hardness engine. Hybrid diversity (HEV and PHEV), consisting of Renault Clio, Renault Captur, Renault Arkana and Renault Megane, grew by 34% through the third quarter of 2021. Renault thus confirms its position as a leading player in electric and hybrid mobility. Hybrid diversity will be strengthened until the end of the year, with the launch of Austral in Spain and France, and in early 2023 in other European countries. Internationally, the logo continues its policy of price creation and electrification, specifically with the launch of the Renault E-tech diversity at Lat. in America in the first part of 2023.

Dacia continues to enjoy strong good fortune driven by its more productive sales to Americans in Europe. Sandero remains the most productive vehicle in sales to Americans in Europe and Duster has achieved 2 million sales since its launch. The all-electric Dacia Spring has more than 45,000 orders in Europe by 2022 and is the most productive electric vehicle sold to Americans in France and the third most productive electric vehicle sold to Americans in Europe. Dacia Jogger is a good fortune with more than 65,000 orders in 2022 and a combine of more than 60% in the top versions. All models, ordered from June 16, 2022, feature the new identity logo presented to the public at the Paris Motor Show. The A110 Jean Rédélé games and the first 110 A110 R games (for Radicale) were booked in less than 2 hours.

The Group’s order book in Europe remains at an all-time high: at the end of September, solid in volume compared to the end of June.

Third Quarter Revenue

Following agreements to sell one hundred percent of Groupe Renault’s shares in Renault Russia to the City of Moscow and its 67. 69% stake in AVTOVAZ to NAMI (Central Institute for Automotive and Engine Research and Development) announced on May 16, 2022, the Russian activities were deconsolidated in Groupe Renault’s accounts and treated as discontinued operations under IFRS five with retroactive effect to the January 1, 2022.

The third quarter 2022 profit from ongoing operations no longer includes Russian business activities. The group’s profit for the third quarter of 2021 was adjusted according to this new scope of activity (impacts: AVTOVAZ – 537 million euros and Renault Russia – 330 million euros).

Group profit for the third quarter of 2022 9800 million euros, 20. 5% more than in the third quarter of 2021. With constant scope and exchange rates5, the group’s profit increased by 19. 4%.

Automotive profit reached 9,000 million euros, 21. 7% more than in Q3 2021. This strong improvement is basically due to:

A volume effect of 12. 5 issues basically due to a decrease in the liquidation of stocks of the corridor network in the third quarter of 2022 compared to the third quarter of 2021, more impacted by the EC crisis.

A positive value effect of 12. 8 emissions, after the first quarter with 5. 6 emissions and the second quarter with 8. 4 emissions. This effect reflects the continuation of value-oriented industrial policy, the optimization of industry discounts, and value increases to offset rate and currency inflation.

A combined product effect of 1. 7 issues resulting from the successful launch of Mégane E-tech Electrique in the second quarter of 2022.

An effect on sales to partners of -2. 3 points, basically similar to the fall in the production of diesel engines and cars for our partners (end of Opel Movano and Fiat Talento contracts at the end of 2021).

An “Other” effect of -3. 0 points, related to the lower contribution of network sales after firm disposals and the decrease in used car sales. The latter is explained by the relief of the fleet of cars with a buyback commitment, the return of which feeds the used vehicle fleet.

Mobility Services contributed €9 million to earnings for the third quarter of 2022 to €6 million in the third quarter of 2021.

Mobilize Financial Services (formerly RCI Bank and Services) generated a profit of €823 million in the third quarter of 2022, up 8. 4% from the third quarter of 2021. Average active assets (€45 billion) increased by 1. 4% in the same period in 2021. Average operating assets were supported by the consumer retail business, which recorded a 1. 9% accumulation in new financing. Records

As of September 30, 2022, total inventories (including the independent network) represented 421,000 cars compared to 340,000 cars at the end of September 2021. Inventories on the independent network remain at a low point of 184,000 cars. The Group’s inventories of 237,000 cars reflect the peak of summer production to meet demand in the fourth quarter.
