GMC Hummer EV 2022, the “Supertruck” makes its debut this fall

The 1000-horsepower supertruck will debut in a few months and enter production by the end of 2021.

The American truck manufacturer also shared a new video with the Hummer. GMC plays timidly, offering only a dimly lit definition of the microphone. However, this gives us a clearer picture of the next large truck, with the kind of bulky proportions you would expect from the name. A right mailbox windshield starts only slightly on the back of the front wheels, leading to a giant interior and sturdy bed. The rear segment connecting the case is steeper than the windshield, although it would possibly be a frame rather than the rear window.

After the one-minute video shows the definition of the pickup truck, it also gives us our first officer of the Hummer EV SUV. This type of frame moment extends the roof to the rear of the vehicle and fits a full-size spare wheel on the tailgate.

The Hummer EV will have the kind of numbers you would expect from a ‘supertruck’. GM claims to have 1,000 horsepower and a gigantic torque of 11,500 lb-ft. The last figure is probably the amount behind the wheel, multiplied by transmission ratios. However, we still expect a pair to start with a 1, followed by 3 digits. The Hummer will use GM’s new compromised EV Ultium platform and, in its high-end form, is expected to travel about 400 miles between loads. The giant truck (and SUV) will feature an evolution of GM’s hands-free Super Cruise as well as a Crab mode, which we believe will reduce its turning radius for narrow maneuvers.

When production begins a year after its full debut, it will take on the Tesla Cybertruck and Ford’s all-electric edition of the new F-150 pickup truck. Stay tuned for more information about the reborn and quieter Hummer over the next few months.
