GMC cancels its entry-level Hummer

GM Authority reports that there will be no GMC Hummer EV2 trim level. The EV2-styling component of the original lineup when the Hummer EV was announced, and originally, GMC had announced that it would start at $79,995. That would give it 625 horsepower, the least amount of power in the lineup, and 250 miles of diversity from a low-end 400-volt edition of the platform, and fewer features.

A year later, GMC announced that prices had been replaced for the entire Hummer EV lineup and that the base value of the Hummer EV2 had increased from $6,250 to $86,245. But, like all of GM’s other EV implementations so far, the cheapest Hummer EV wouldn’t be the first to arrive, as the more expensive versions arrived first. The Hummer EV2 is expected to hit dealerships this spring.
