During the occasion, GM identified 116 of its most sensitive suppliers from 15 countries that consistently exceeded GM’s expectations, created exceptional prices, or brought inventions to the company. The rite of the awards was originally planned as a live occasion to be held in March, but was postponed because it had an effect on the COVID-19 pandemic. Recognition is for vendor functionality in calendar year 2019.

The winners of GM’s Supplier of the Year award were decided through a global team of GM Purchasing, Engineering, Quality, Manufacturing and Logistics Managers. The winners were decided by functionality criteria in product purchases, global purchases and production, visitor service and after-sales service and logistics services.
