“Flint Assembly will not start early for general third shift production this Sunday, January 28. . . We recognize the Detroit Lions’ participation in the NFC Championship Game as a rare and exclusive opportunity that justifies this schedule adjustment. transition to allow workers to play and keep it running on time,” the email reads.
“In more than thirteen years at GM, I’ve never noticed a postponement of the start of the week. . . Even 2 feet of snow is enough MDR. Let’s go, lions!” the worker wrote.

The Detroit Free Press noted that the Flint plant is the one in Michigan that will run a third shift on Sunday.
“There are Lions teams everywhere and everyone is very excited,” Eric Welter, president of WUAW Local 598, said in the media earlier this week. “This is an unprecedented time in Michigan and I hope many employers will do what they can to help with this. “We were probably ahead of the game, but I think everyone will do anything to adapt. “
The third shift typically begins at 10 p.m. on Sundays with around 1,500 employees.
“We know this is a rare moment in Detroit sports history and we want our team to savor the moment, while still assuring we’re providing our customers and dealers with the trucks they need,” GM spokesman Kevin Kelly said.
