Pedestrian detection, also known as front pedestrian braking, is an active generation of General Motors protection that aims to prevent collisions of vehicles with pedestrians and cyclists by applying the brakes of a vehicle.
The front camera, known as Opel Eye in Europe, serves as the basis for pedestrian detection and the front pedestrian braking formula. If the formula detects that a pedestrian is directly forward and a collision is imminent, and the driving force has not yet applied the brakes, the formula alerts the driving force and, if necessary, automatically applies the brakes to help decrease the severity of the collision. or the collision.
Please note that pedestrian detection/front pedestrian braking works in conjunction with the forward collision alert.
Pedestrian detection and front pedestrian braking are available in GM cars around the world, in addition to those supplied with the Opel, Vauxhall, Chevrolet, Buick, GMC and Cadillac front-facing camera system.
