The agreement, which is expected to be finalized in the first quarter of Gencor’s fiscal year 2021, will allow Gencor to manufacture and expand Volvo CE’s existing line of North American terminators under the Blaw-Knox brand. Gencor is expected to continue in the market and the Blaw-Knox finalizer line through the chosen Volvo CE dealers. The terms of the transaction were not disclosed.
The Blaw-Knox logo dates back more than a century, when in 1917, Blaw Collapsible Steel Centering Company merged with Knox Pressed and Welded Steel Company. The company manufactured its first road paving apparatus in 1929 and since then the logo has acquired an enviable reputation in the North American paving segment.
“Gencor is a strong spouse in supporting the Blaw-Knox range of finishers, as he has extensive experience in the asphalt industry and a reputation for quality and visitor success,” said Melker Jernberg, President of Volvo CE. “We see this agreement as a mutual benefit to us and Gencor. It maintains a valuable product that provides Volvo CE visitors, as well as distribution and maintenance through Blaw-Knox logo finalizer dealers in North America.”
