The vintage car auctions presented through RM Sothethrough’s and Barrett-Jackson have long been a mainstay of the car collectors market, however, those auction houses may soon be the old guard. The next generation of auction platforms is online and, as demonstrated through Bring a Trailer, has skyrocketed in popularity and influence over the past decade, which has led to the creation of sites like Doug DeMuro’s Cars and Bids and now Recently released Stratas Auctions. Training

With the first batch of cars stratas Auctions unveiled at launch, it turns out that it will depend more on the Radwood era (1980 to 1999) of cars that has been a hit with car enthusiasts in recent years. Of the first six cars presented, 4 are from this era and come with a 1981 Porsche 924 GTR, a 1981 Renault R5 Turbo, a 1989 Nissan 300ZX Turbo IMSA GTO and a 1993 Jaguar XJ220. To complete the first series of featured batches, a traditional 1963 Ford Thunderbird (with air suspension) and a 1977 Volkswagen Beetle with incredible service with just 124 miles.

Two of those examples have an impressive racing background. The unreversed 924 GTR (one of the 19 built), for example, ran in Daytona and Sebring, and also brought its elegance to Le Mans in 1982 until one of its wheels fell. The history of the 300ZX festival is even more impressive, with 4 wins and 16 podiums. Always in a position to compete, the Z comes with a replacement engine and, according to Stratas, is the first 300ZX of its kind to be presented for public sale.

If you’re making plans to launch a new car auction site, it doesn’t hurt to publish things with a 1990s bedroom poster icon, the Jaguar XJ220. This specific vehicle has only 1815 miles on the watch and is number 237 among Jaguar’s 281 examples of the halo model.

The Renault R5 Turbo, meanwhile, drips into the 1980s rally car, with a central engine, in hot-hatch mode. This internal explanation is sufficient to point to the dotted line.

Stratas calls his new company “revolutionary,” but that’s yet to be tested. From what has been noticed so far, this turns out to be the newest in a wave of new auction sites that follow all the steps of Bring a Trailer. We wonder how many more of this kind will be implemented in the coming years. In any case, who can oppose a new destination for car connoisseurs to buy and sell, or just salivate, fresh classics?
