Four piled up south of Salinas kill 19-year-old woman

A died on U.S. Highway 101 after getting caught in a pile of four cars, according to the California Highway Patrol.

Around five o’clock on Monday morning, the 19-year-old woman was heading north on Highway 101 near Chualar in the slow lane, sitting in the rear passenger seat of a Nissan Sentra.

A 20-year-old woman sitting in the front passenger seat; CHP did not provide any data on the driving force of the car.

The Sentra stopped a Volkswagen Jetta due to a collision at 101 and Esperanza Road. The Jetta was stopped by a Dodge Ram dragging a flat trailer, CHP officials said.

A user driving a Northbound Chevrolet Silverado in the same lane did not avoid time, finish the Sentra and create a stack of 4 cars. The Silverado led the Sentra, with the 3 people, to the Volkswagen Jetta, which was driven to the tray trailer.

The 19-year-old woman died at the scene, CHP said. Once your circle of relatives is informed of his death, the Monterey County Coroner’s Office will release his name.

The cause of the turn of fate is still under investigation, but alcohol and drugs don’t seem to be a factor, CHP said.
