MILTON, W. Va. (WCHS) — Milton police are reporting what they say is a damaging intersection after a pickup truck crashed into one and injured 4 people.
A T-shaped accident occurred at the intersection of U. S. 60 and Newman’s Branch Road around 3 p. m. on Wednesday.
Deputies said the driver of a small pickup truck exited Newman’s Branch in front of a westbound Jeep and crashed. The pickup truck then crossed the eastbound lanes, drove over a fence at Milton Pre-K, crossed the playground and entered the school building.
Three other people in the van and a rider in the Jeep were taken to the hospital.
Officers said the intersection was dangerous and that if it had happened an hour earlier, the students and their parents could have been injured.
“Special thanks to God that this didn’t happen an hour earlier, while the kids were in the box and the parents were picking them up,” the Milton Police Department posted on Facebook.
The names and prestige of the injured have not been made public.
