Fordham Manor: Two dead, 3 hospitalized and one defendant after collision between two cars

Two men died, 3 women were hospitalized, and one was arrested and charged following a horrific morning accident at Fordham Manor.

 

An NYPD spokesperson said the incident happened at the intersection of East Fordham Road and Jerome Avenue around 4:12 a. m. Saturday, April 13, when he responded to a 911 call about a reported car accident.

 

The spokesperson said an additional investigation by the New York Police Department’s Highway District Collision Investigation Team determined that a 23-year-old driver was driving a gray 2022 BMW X4 SUV northbound on Jerome Avenue, at full speed, and drove through a constant red light before colliding with a black 2023 Nissan Rogue traveling eastbound on East Fordham Road.

 

“After the first collision, the BMW SUV struck the pillar of the elevated track above Jerome Avenue,” the spokesperson said. “EMS responded to the scene and transported the 23-year-old driver and his 21-year-old passenger to St. John’s Hospital. John. Barnabas, where they were later pronounced dead. “

 

The spokesperson said the driver of the 36-year-old Nissan Rogue and her two passengers, a 26-year-old and a 28-year-old, were also transported via EMS to St. John’s Hospital. Barnabas, where they were all transported. Solid state listing.

 

 

Norwood News had been listening for about half an hour, and then witnessed what appeared to be a black car racing on a loopway near Williamsbridge Oval Park and East Gun Hill Road in Norwood around 1:20 a. m. Saturday morning, but was unable to photograph the vehicle in time before it sped away. We have asked the police if this car was potentially one of the cars that ended up in the collision and are awaiting feedback.
