Ford will face Ram TRX with a 750-horsepower F-150 Raptor pickup truck, reports

The Drive has new news data, first reported last year, that Ford will offer an F-150 Raptor powered by the 5.2-liter supercharged V8 brought in the 2020 Shelthrough GT500 Mustang.

The engine is nicknamed “Predator” and will be configured to produce between 725 and 750 hp on the Raptor, an internal source of The Drive said. The existing Raptor is supplied with a 3.5-litre turbocharged V6 with 450 horsepower.

Recent observations of a prototype disguised as Raptor being tested on public roads also showed that Ford had tested it with a rear suspension of coil springs of blade springs, which is the same configuration that Ram uses in his soft pickup trucks. The exhaust sound heard in the truck video driving near a Ford half-progression also suggests that it has a V8 under the hood.

The Ram 1500 TRX is expected to be the fastest and strongest van when it arrives at showrooms this fall with a base value of $71690. The automaker revealed that a limited series of 702 Launch Edition trucks worth $92,010 had sold out within 3 hours of the opening of the order eBook after the truck’s unveiling on Monday.

Ford did not comment on the report. Recently, it introduced the redesigned 2021 Ford F-150, but did not show a new edition of the Raptor, which was last updated in 2017.
