Ford Motor Co. de Dearborn maintained its 47-year streak of best-selling trucks in 2023, with more than 700,000 consumers opting to purchase a new Ford F-Series pickup truck.
“It is a series that spans 4 generations and has outlasted the entire lifespan of many other popular customer products, including compact discs and mp3 players, and the entire physical video rental industry,” said Robert Kaffl, director of Ford sales in the United States. “But this difference is a throwback to the past; the F Series continues to grow and in 2023 remained the best-selling vehicle in the country for the 42nd consecutive year.
To keep the F-Series as its best-selling vehicle, Ford says it is committed to “excellence, innovation and understanding the needs of our consumers. “The F-Series now offers new virtual experiences. It offers available technologies such as Pro Power Onboard, which helps consumers force a blackout on job sites or even in their homes; features that make it less difficult to hitch and tow a trailer, and even hands-free BlueCruise highway driving.
“One of the keys to our good luck in 2023 and beyond is the diversity of our powertrain offering,” says Kaffl. “We sense that our consumers have unique needs, whether they’re on the jobsite, on the farm, or embarking on a weekend adventure. That’s why we’re proud to say that the Ford F-150 PowerBoost Hybrid has earned the name of America’s best-selling full-size hybrid pickup truck.
The electrification of F-Series via the F-150 Lightning also has given Ford the best-selling full-size electric pickup truck in the U.S.
“As we continue to push the barriers of what electric cars can do, the F-150 Lightning is a shining example of our commitment to a more sustainable long-term without compromising strength and performance,” says Kaffl.
Ford will begin production of the new 2024 F-150 fuel and hybrid models in early 2024. The company’s commitment to expanding into fuel, hybrid and electric models in 2024 means Ford can now offer a pickup truck tailored to every way of life for its customers.
“The enduring legacy of the F-Series is not only the result of our relentless pursuit of improvements, but also a reflection of the acceptance as true among our company and our consumers,” says Kaffl. “We are deeply grateful for the opportunity to serve our consumers and are committed to proceeding to earn their acceptance every day. “
