Ford Bronco’s debut smashes the pages of jeep fans online

The Internet had just two weeks to digest the new Ford Bronco and its foray into a segment that was previously owned by the Jeep Wrangler. Naturally, more than a few keyboard warriors send missives and memes from their Internet connections to the basement, so we need to put our cover suit on dangerous fabrics (standard corporate number in Driving.ca) and explore the reaction of the minefield.

This post was encouraged, word game, through Business Insider, one of the first to notice the frustrating reaction to Bronco through some Wrangler owners in online groups.

A quick stop at JLWranglerForums.com proved the point, with several users casting shadows like Roy Halladay used to launch releases on the Skydome. Some are playful ribs, the ones your brother gives you when you still get the task you wanted.

But other answers? In addition to being plagued with poor grammar and general oral breathing, they have the typical thread of a child who is disappointed because the neighbor has a new motorcycle that is a little bigger than theirs. Witness:

Oh seriously? I mean, Suzuki Samurai. It’s a new vehicle, an attack on your lifestyle, folks. Here’s even more kvetching:

We will leave our canopy of messages full of vitriol with this of a Wrangler fan whose call is drafted but which is, hilarious, that is regularly used in reference to the annoying stereotypical brothers.

Here’s the good news: not all Wrangler owners have the attitude of an austere teenager. Consider this well-written and considered missive from a Wrangler owner who considers Bronco to be smart, and watch as it expands the purchasing characteristics of those with a relaxed mindset.

And, with this I’m in the despondenct of the internet comments, you went to take a decontamination shower and hang up the mixture of hazardous materials. Do you need to be part of the debate? Keep it civilized but tell your dogs with us in the comments below.
