(Reuters) – Ford Ford is recalling 456,565 sets of some compact SUVs and pickup trucks in the United States due to a loss of motive power due to a low battery problem, the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) said on Wednesday.

According to the NHTSA, an undetected low battery can cause some electrical accessories, such as hazard lights, to malfunction or cause a loss of motive power in affected vehicles.

The recall affects Bronco Sport SUVs manufactured between 2022 and 2024 and Maverick compact pickups manufactured between 2022 and 2023, the auto protection regulator said.

Dealers will recalibrate the frame and powertrain modules so they are loose to fix the problem, according to the NHTSA.
