Annan Athletic have hit out at fly-tippers who dumped piles of rubbish in the club’s car park.

The Scottish League One club posted images of the scenes earlier this week.

A sofa and hordes of green waste were among the pieces left in the car park outside their property in Galabank.

Club officials hit out at the mess and said they would be taking action.

“Trash dumped in Galabank parking lot overnight,” they posted on social media platform X.

“We have CCTV of the vehicle that left this.

“Please come and collect your belongings before sharing them with the local police, thank you. “

The spill was highlighted by the football club on Monday.

The car park is used by Galabank enthusiasts and visitors.

Annan chairman Russell Brown, speaking to the Daily Record, said: “A mile down the road is a municipal landfill, so there is no excuse for this behaviour.

“We don’t need this to happen again and we’re asking other people to be vigilant, and we have between 16 and 18 CCTV cameras running in and around the club.

“We are also grateful to the members of the network who were disgusted by this and set out to remove it. But that happened. It’s heartbreaking.

“There are other questionable people who exploit other people, offer to make moving pictures for them and pay them for transportation to the landfill. It’s just that it doesn’t go to any garbage dump, it’s thrown into the field. “

On the pitch, meanwhile, Peter Murphy’s team have brought in a new goalkeeper.

Jacques Heraghty has joined the Black and Golds on loan from Queens Park until the end of the season.

Annan hosts the city of Edinburgh on Saturday.
