WILLIAMSTOWN – The Williamstown Relay For Life Vendor and Food Truck Festival will take place from 10 a. m. to 10 a. m. m. a p. m. Saturday at Tomlinson Park.
Last year, the Relay For Life event replaced the format to renew interest and attract more people to the annual effort to raise money for the American Cancer Society’s efforts to combat cancer and the patients and families affected by it.
“Last year was our first time and we all had a great time,” said Carmen Hathaway, senior progression officer for the American Cancer Society. “We hope to repeat this wonderful moment with many others.

Eighteen food and produce vendors will set up shop in the park, paying a lump sum to the company.
Food trucks will come with The Hangry House, Leslie’s Grub, Qdoba, Rhodendron Ice Cream, The Sister Samurai, Sno Biz (Iced Up), Spun Sweetly, Cookie Caboose and Sips Coffee.
Merchandise distributors include First Presbyterian Church, Thirty One-Kim Hunt, Craft-Jessica Rawson, Plants Etc. , Paint With Joy, Basket Maker, Wax Melts, County Line Styles and Joy’s Glass.
The second annual Golf Cart Poker Race will take place from 10 a. m. to 5 p. m. m. to noon and will begin and end at Tomlinson Park. Organizers welcome golf carts, side-by-sides, electric bicycles and lawn tractors. Tickets are $25 for adults and $5 for adults. for youth ages 10 and under.
The event will take place throughout the Williamstown neighborhoods, where participants will make five designated activity stops and draw a card for a poker hand or a Go Fish card. There will be cash prizes and a $2 food truck or vendor coupon equivalent to the adult ticket.

If other people don’t have a golf cart, they can rent one for $20 at KMA Auto in Marietta. Those interested should contact KMA at 740-538-8502 by noon Friday. Carts will be delivered to the venue.
The Crusin’ For A Cure car show will run from noon to four in the afternoon and will feature a number of vintage and vintage cars. However, Hathaway said they would like to have other cars on display, from electric cars to hybrids to sports cars. so that other people can have a chance to see them.
Last year’s car show had between 60 and 75 attendees. Registration is done when other people arrive.
Bingo will take up position at the Tomlinson Park fire shelter. People can play 20 for $20.
Places are limited to 70 players. Doors open at noon and games begin at 1:30 p. m. Various prizes will be distributed.
There will also be an inflatable game for the little ones to play on.
Live music will be performed by Williamstown Strings and Waverly Run.
Since the occasion takes place in the afternoon and not in the evening, the classic tribute to the luminaries was replaced to include wind chimes. The bells will sell for $15 and there will be a booth to write the call of a user affected by cancer.
“Then other people can take them home and keep them as a souvenir of them,” Hathaway said.
With the change in format, those who came last year had a great time, Hathaway said.
“I hope other people will come and bring their families,” he said. “It’s a circle of family members and a fun event.
