Florida Department of Health: 25.3% of young people screened in Martin County are positive for coronavirus

STUART, Florida – The Florida Department of Health said Martin County had the positivity rate for youth throughout the state of Florida.

On July 26, 45.1% of martin county youth tested positive.

“It’s scary,” said Lisa Yancsurak, who has three children.

The latest pediatric report published through the Florida Department of Health indicates that as of July 24, 25.3% of the 1,555 young people examined in Martin County tested were positive.

The youngest boy from Yancsurak is five years old.

She said the long-term effects of coronavirus were unknown and that returning to school on August 11 was not an option.

“I can’t threaten my son with a ventilator in the hospital,” Yancsurak said.

“Children want school,” said Naralyn Durbin, who has two children. “They want socialization. They want a genuine physical learning environment. I have full confidence in teachers, staff and on-call staff because they can have a safe and safe environment that they will leave blank.”

Durbin said the proposal to delay school for two weeks in Martin County would have made a difference.

“If we get it, we get it, ” said Durbin. “We are convinced that everything will be fine. We’ll get over it. I may not be hospitalized. We’re not going to die.”

The Ministry of Health said that before May, young people can get tested unless they are symptomatic.
