Jinja, Uganda Independent Rippon Falls fishermen along Lake Victoria in Jinja were thrilled through a floating motorcycle that featured the young innovators of Project X on Thursday afternoon.
Project X Youth Innovators is a team of six university graduates who have designed tactics to obtain a source of income by introducing exclusive water transport devices in the country. On this occasion, they designed a motorcycle with two soft ducts on the sides that allow it to stay afloat along the lake.
Sam Kawoya, team leader of Project X, said that after graduating with a degree in mechanical engineering, they chose to put into effect the skills they learned in outdoor school for a job. Kawoya adds that the motorcycle travels at a speed of 1 km/h, but that they plan to modify it to run at a speed of 25 minutes consistent with the kilometer.
Julius Diima, a fisherman, says that water cycling is an exclusive feature that will give them a source of income basically from tourists who stop at the landing site to enjoy nature. He says the newly brought means of transport will make it easier to navigate the lake.
Adam Buyinza, one of the members of the network, says innovators modify the water motorcycle to increase its speed in the water, which will attract more travelers to the water to hug it.
Lawrence Bwire, another fisherman, says government agencies focus on those cutting-edge projects to create jobs for young people.
But Martin Gakumba, president of the Rippon Falls landing site, said other young people venture into advanced technologies that will allow them to create unique features that are seamlessly marketed to the public.
