Five Reasons to Buy a 2025 Polaris Sportsman ATV

Polaris has been manufacturing machines for outdoor enthusiasts since the mid-1950s. The company knows powersports for work and for play, and that includes the part work/part play Polaris Sports Touring 570 all-terrain vehicle. I tested this ATV for a week on my in-laws’ sprawling property in west Texas, and I didn’t want to give it back.

My circle of relatives includes an active fisherman and hunter, and we have access to plenty of acres of ranch land. An ATV like this is a wonderful way to get around on land, and with knobby tires, plenty of ground clearance , garage options and other useful features, the Polaris Sportsman Touring 570 has a lot to offer.

Here are five reasons to do it yourself.

When driving off-road, you will encounter a lot of obstacles that can get tangled under your machine: tall grass, bushes, trash or medium-sized rocks in shallow creeks and streams. The Polaris Sportsman Touring 570 offers 11. 5 inches of ground clearance, and along with its upgraded suspension, this ATV can tackle other types of terrain. I drove the Sportsman down a country road with moderate hills and brushy vegetation and felt nothing.

On the front of the Sportsman, a rack can be expanded to hold up to 270 pounds. Whether you’re strapping on a tackle box or game from a hunting session, you can carry it back to base. Other helpful features include towing capacity up to 1,350 pounds, enhanced LED lights, and a new front bumper than can take on a 3,500-pound winch.

Do you want to travel with a friend? This is imaginable in the Sportsman, which includes a removable passenger seat. It installs comfortably, so the passenger can hold on to the side handles or snuggle up in front of the driver.

Sometimes, all you need is a vehicle for fun. Rolling around on the Sportsman is exhilarating in 2×4 mode when the roads are flat and easy. In 4×4 mode, the ATV is ready for moderate hills (don’t tip it over!) and scrub. With a little modulation in either mode, the throttle is responsive without lurching. The brakes kick in quickly, and the suspension smooths out the bumps.

New for 2025, a 6-gallon rear garage area stores your gear in the rear and combines with an additional 5-gallon garage area in the front for a combined total of 11 gallons. I threw my bag in the back for my check ride, as well as an extra pair of gloves. It can easily hold a pill or laptop if needed, or camping gear like a small flashlight, chimney sticks, first aid kit, and a foil emergency blanket.

Ready to practice motor sports on your lawn? The Polaris Sportsman Touring 570 is made to work.
