The family circle of a 21-year-old boy who died in a horrible twist of fate with three friends while driving his car in a tree spoke of his “devastation. “
Driver Joshua Parkes died on site along with Lucy Tibbetts, 16, and Izzie Floyd, 16, after the collision on Tuesday, October 13.
Front passenger Nathan Cartwright, 18, also died 4 days after the turn of destination in Kingswinford, West Mids.
Isobel Ramsell, also 16, was injured when Skoda Fabia crashed into a tree and remains in the hospital in solid condition.
Joshua’s circle of relatives said in a statement before Nathan’s death: “The total circle of relatives is devastated by the loss of life and prays that those who are hospitalized will fully recover.
“Our hearts go out to the affected families at this terrible time.
“We would appreciate it if our privacy is respectable as we settle for what happened. “
Josh’s family friend Kane Allport had told Mirror Online in the past: “It’s such a pitiful loss.
“We all played in combination when we were kids.
“He was such a bubbly user and loved, he would have done anything for anyone who needed help.
“A life so short that many will miss it.
“The global is so cruel that we will all miss them.
“You don’t expect to wake up to hear that you’ve known for years and how young you care about something horrible. “
A West Midlands police spokesman said: “Our specialist officers continue with families whose lives have been devastated by this tragic event.
“There are no words that can express their pain and our minds with them at this painful moment. “
Friends told how Joshua got off the road on a car before sinking into the tree “at 90 mph. “
They claimed that he might have been driving some other vehicle or that he knew a police car nearby at the time.
Neighbors described how they fled their homes to perform cardiopulmonary resuscitation of women after being evicted from the rubble.
Dozens of bouquets of flowers and balloons were placed around the tree and a circle of family and friends visited the site.
PC Chris Ridge, of the Force Collision Investigation Unit, said earlier: “This is a devastating time for the families of those involved, and we have specially trained officials who help them at this difficult time.
“The loss of these young lives is very provocative for everyone involved.
“We’re still running a series of lines of research as we review to see what happened and why. “
