A 63-year-old Fair Lawn resident hit and killed through a car on Fair Lawn Avenue on Wednesday.
Police won several calls around 9:45 a.m., indicating that he had been hit through a car at the intersection of Fair Lawn and Parmalee avenues, the sergeant said. Sean Macys
Macys said Yuri Berger crossed Fair Lawn Avenue at the pedestrian crossing when he hit a Honda driven by a 53-year-old resident. He threw himself into the east lane and got trapped under the front of a Mercedes driven through a Clifton resident. Police said the Mercedes had stopped before the accident.

When police arrived at the scene, they were able to lift the vehicle under which Berger was trapped. He was taken to St. Joseph’s University Medical Center, where he later died of his injuries, Macys said. There were no other injuries.

Fair Lawn police resumed the investigation and received assistance from the Fatal Accident Team from the Bergen County District Attorney’s Office.
