Ayrton Senna’s traditionally significant red 1991 Honda NSX is now on sale.
A piece of motorsport history is on the market when Ayrton Senna’s red 1991 Honda NSX, a car closely related to the legendary driver, went on sale. Priced at £500,000 on AutoTrader, this iconic vehicle offers a history and a non-public connection to Senna himself.
The F1 icon played a huge role in the evolution of the first Honda NSX, rigorously testing prototypes and providing his skilful recommendations to the car. As a sign of their collaboration, Honda has provided him with several models, and one of those rare ones. Cars are on the market lately at a premium price.
Originally introduced to Senna via Honda, the NSX is more than just a high-performance sports car; It’s a tangible component of the racing icon’s life. Throughout his career, Senna was not only praised for his unheard-of skills on the track, but was also known for his taste for finely designed vehicles.
The current Robert McFagan commented on the NSX when he told Motor1:
“I first bought the car in 2013 while on holiday in the Algarve, Portugal, and have owned it ever since, where it sits proudly on my property in East Sussex. Senna’s red NSX was delivered to him through Honda, with whom he had an advertisement partnership, and Senna used it and was photographed with the car during his stays in Portugal.
Having only two previous owners, McFagan adds, the car’s exclusivity is undeniable. With a mileage of 39,100 km, the NSX is just an exhibition trophy: it has been preserved and appreciated, retaining its spirit and mechanical integrity.
“Being a huge Senna fan, I was excited to get my hands on the NSX, which is designed to perfection and features a sleek and rugged device to deliver an experience on the road. It has been a genuine thrill to have this “One of the most famous cars belonging to a true legend of the sport and the thrill of driving Senna’s car is never going to go away”,
The legacy of the NSX is enriched with appearances in the film “Racing is in My Blood”, where Senna deftly maneuvers the vehicle. In 2019, the car appeared at the Imola circuit for a tribute lap commemorating the 25th anniversary of Senna’s tragic death in the 1994 San Francisco. Marine Grand Prix.
