Edmunds: five small fast and sumptuous SUVs

Many luxury car manufacturers have recently new performance-focused versions of their small SUVs that can compete with high-end sports sedans for strength and excitement.

ALFA ROMEO STELVIO 2020

The Alfa Romeo Stelvio is an SUV with a lot of personality. The Stelvio features dynamic handling and a striking look, but also takes a walk. A four-cylinder, 280-horsepower engine is standard, but you can also opt for the high-performance edition called Stelvio Quadrifoglio. It features a turbocharged V6 engine developed via Ferrari that develops 505 horsepower.

There are some drawbacks to the Stelvio. There is not much boarding area and, despite recent updates to the infotainment system, it has more technological unrest than a luxury vehicle. However, the Stelvio is an SUV with an abundance of soul. Recommended retail value through the novice manufacturer: $42,695.

AUDI Q5 2021

Maybe you’re for something a little more toned. If so, the Audi Q5 is a wonderful choice. Specifically, we appreciate its popular high quality all-wheel drive. By 2021, the Q5 has a fundamental four-cylinder engine that develops 261 horsepower. The best performance style is the SQ5, which uses a 349 horsepower V6. It doesn’t have as much strength as the other SUVs indexed here, but it’s still a lot for the maximum drivers.

Audi has also updated the Q5’s taste for 2021, and the new look infuses the Q5 with more style. But deep down, it’s still a luxury SUV that puts the practical side before the flash. If proper ergonomics and road behavior are the most sensible thing on your list, the Q5 deserves to be considered. Starting price: $44295 (Edmunds estimate)

2020 BMW X3

The BMW X3 meets all the requirements you’d expect from a BMW, from the interior design considered to the precise handling that provides a greater driving feel. A 248-horsepower four-cylinder and a 382-horsepower six-cylinder are the main engine options of the X3, but there is also a new X3 M. 2020 logo This style of high-end functionality pumps 503 horsepower from its turbo engine six-cylinder and is, unsurprising, an insurrection on secondary roads.

You’ll find the X3 very fun to drive, even if you’re left with a smoother version. The X3 can also bring an impressive amount of stuff thanks to the generous shipping area and the absolutely flat folding rear seats. You get a lot of generation with the X3, its information and entertainment formula and some of the complex security features are a little disappointing in how it works. Initial MSRP: $42,945.

MERCEDES-BENZ GLC 2020

As soon as you look at it, the Mercedes-Benz GLC radiates elegance. It has an eye-catching exterior design and subtle interior, and skillfully balances comfort and functionality on the road. There is a 255-horsepower four-cylinder and a 385-horsepower six-cylinder, or you can opt for the AMG GLC 63, which features a 469-horsepower turbocharged V8.

GLC’s easy-to-use, function-rich infotainment formula complements the interior. We also love GLC’s spacious rear seats and elegant shipping space. Mercedes offers a multitude of updates and options, so be careful with the maximum price. Initial MSRP: $43,495.

MODEL AND TESLA 2020

Tesla’s latest vehicle, the Model Y, is an all-electric SUV with exceptional strength and smart features. Lately, Audi and Jaguar have their own impressive electric SUVs, and other automakers follow them closely. What makes model Y aside is Tesla’s performance, price, and extensive network of patented superchargers.

The Y style is available in two versions: great diversity and performance. It has a battery life of 316 miles in the long range with a full battery. Performance has almost the same diversity but greatly accelerates the speed of the SUV. In the Edmunds tests, it went from 0 to one hundred km/h in 3.7 seconds, which equates to the acceleration of the BMW X3 M and the Mercedes-AMG GLC 63. In all variants, the Y style changes the rules of the game. Initial MSRP: $51,990.

EDMUNDS DIT: Almost every luxury SUV provides an exciting combination of practicality and style. But only a few of those models are also fun to drive, whether you’re driving a fundamental edition or a high-performance edition.
