Dubai’s huge 100-location truck is complete in over 55%

Dubai: The allocation of Trucks Rest Stop in Dubailand, on Emirates Road, crossed the midpoint to be 55% successful. That was announced on Saturday.

The announcement was made by Mattar Mohammed Al Tayer, managing director and chairman of the board of directors of the Roads and Transport Authority (RTA) in Dubai.

The structure of the facility, which is being carried out in partnership with the personal sector, is the first built-in truck prevention zone that will meet all the fundamental wishes of heavy vehicle drivers in Dubai.

“Al Sahraa Group, the project developer, has completed 55% of the project’s work, adding initial processes prior to the structure phase such as obtaining the certificate of non-objection, leveling of the terrain, lines of application protection and obtaining the latest structure permits,” he told Tayer.

He added that the station spans five hectares and includes a hundred truck parking lots and other amenities to meet the key desires of truckers, as well as a specialized technical testing center for heavy vehicles.

By creating this station, RTA aims to address truck parking issues along roads and in residential areas. This will also allow RTA to meet the so-called development of truck stops, as the trucks make about 145,000 trips and lift about 3 million tons of cargo a day in Dubai, Al Tayer said.

“The structure of the station will improve road safety, reduce injuries involving trucks, and speed up traffic when trucks are banned from driving,” he added.

It will also generate an additional source of income for RTA through the source of investor income share and provide investment opportunities for investors in a variety of areas.

RTA has already built 18 rest spaces for transient trucks in the right of way of several major roads in Dubai with a total capacity of 538 parking spaces to provide safe and convenient parking spaces for trucks with limited hours of movement.

“RTA gives a top priority to land transport because it is for the progress of the economy and trade. The allocation supports the Dubai Silk Road strategy that is summed up in Dubai’s 50-year charter and the Silk Road Economic Belt initiative. The UAE is a station on the Silk Economic Route and is the gateway to the Middle East and Africa as a component of the allocation connecting the region’s advertising markets,” Al Tayer said.

“RTA commissioned an in-depth examination of truck movements in Dubai, as well as studies, interviews and workshops with the departments and corporations involved.

He also developed a style for predicting long-term truck movements and assessed the need for dry ports and freight assembly and distribution centers.

RTA has also completed technical and advertising studies of permanent truck rest sites: the first is located in Industrial Zone 3 of Jebel Ali, near Shaikh Mohammad Bin Zayed Road; and the moment is in Al Ayyas, near Emirates Road. Private sector tenders for any of the sites will be published in December. Both stations will have all appliances and services.

A review for another one is recently underway in the commercial city of Dubai, near the Shaikh Mohammad Bin Zayed road. The offer for this purpose shall be submitted after the completion of the technical and investment studies.
