DOH Motorcycle Ambulance Aims to Avoid Traffic and Save Lives

MANILA, Philippines – Transport Secretary Joseph Emilio Abaya might think traffic is “not fatal” in the metropolitan area of Manila, but ambulances responding to emergencies are as vulnerable to traffic jams as any other vehicle.

If indeed some of the responses to alleviate the metro’s deterioration “will take time”, as Abaya said earlier, ambulances will have to cope for now.

But the fitness branch is looking for tactics to save lives, traffic or non-traffic.

On Tuesday 8 September, the Ministry of Health (DOH) -Mimaropa unveiled the first two motor ambulances ordered first for remote areas.

“The concept is intended to satisfy the wishes of lifeguards in the Malalayo, yung walang stretcher regions,” DOH-Mimaropa regional director Eduardo Janairo told reporters, apart from the rite of the first paramedic organization. paramedics in the Philippines held at the Diamond Hotel.

(The concept is for lifeguards to arrive without delay in remote spaces, it is for the motorcycle without stretcher).

He added: “But nung makita namin ang Metro ManilaArray. ” nakita namin yung motorsiklo naka-pass but yung ambulansya hindi, sabi namin, siguro pwede na s zones ‘to. Kaya dinesign na rin for regions”.

(But when we saw Metro ManilaArray . . . We saw how motorcycles can pass traffic but ambulances can’t, so we thought we could use it in urban spaces as well, so this was also designed for urban spaces).

Only one of the two motorcycles has a stretcher, however, either one has the basics to respond to emergencies: defibrillator, oxygen tank, intubation kit, nebulizer, ECG device and emergency medication.

The motorcycle is also supplied with the following:

One of the motorcycles, the one with no stretcher, will be delivered to the DOH’s physical fitness emergency control workers’ corps for an emergency reaction in the metropolitan domain of Manila, while the other will go to Marinduque, a pilot domain of the regional office.

Two new motorcycles will also be in position before the end of 201cinco, and five more in 2016. The purpose for now is to equip all mimaropa provinces with a motorcycle.

“Di tayo pwedeng mag-mass product kaagad hangga’t di natin nape-perfect yga problem diyan (We can’t mass produce until we’ve solved the bike disorders,” Janairo said.

“Aralin nating mabuti how it works, a magic problem and magical gaps, then a natin yan of the best. “

(Let’s take a look at how it works, what the disorders will be, what the gaps will be, and then we’ll achieve perfection over time. )- Rappler. com
