Does bass have an effect on aluminum? Trek Bicycles presents a cutting-edge approach

Trek Bicycles, of Waterloo, Wisconsin, says that in addition to making bicycles, they make a difference. On Jan. 6, Trek released its 2024 sustainability report. This is said to demonstrate the company’s ongoing commitment to reducing its carbon emissions.

In addition to other company initiatives, the report highlights Trek’s aluminum program, as well as an “innovative” supplier agreement that generates significant emissions reductions. Check out the main points from the report below!

“Our sustainability report isn’t only about tracking progress — it’s about accelerating it,” said Joel Demeritt, Trek’s Global Sustainability Manager. “We’re setting the groundwork now for a major change in just the next year or two. It’s necessary work that’s making a difference beyond our walls, and we’re excited to get more companies to join us in this effort.

We all know that cycling can be the solution to many of the world’s disorders. This could fix disruptions such as climate change, public health, and congestion.

For Trek Bicycles, the journey towards sustainability began after its first sustainability report in 2021. It was a raw snapshot of Trek’s impact and a roadmap to make things better. Today, after publishing their third report, they say they have taken many steps. steps forward. It began by conducting an emissions study with a third party. Based on this study, they set out to reduce their emissions, starting by reducing packaging.

From there they explored the carbon footprint of the materials they are using. They were surprised to see that the aluminum they used had nearly the same carbon foot print as carbon fiber composites. Working with their suppliers, Trek notes a change from “dirty to clean” aluminum which has the potential to massively reduce their carbon emissions for aluminum frames. The change is so great that Trek calls it “the single biggest thing to reduce our carbon emissions,” and it has the potential to help them reach their 2032 goal by 2027.

But what about carbon bikes? No comments on this. . .

You have to appreciate Trek’s ability to come up with concepts and execute them. However, the exaggerated amount of concepts and brands is exhausting. Slow down and ride smart bikes. You are on your way to bankruptcy with your manic behavior.

Not if Donald Dump is about to impose tariff. The only “clean” aluminium available is made from hydro energy and the dump is about to favor coal made.

Well designed and supported aluminum frames are highly underrated. I’ve been on the carbon bandwagon since the ’90s and for all their benefits, CF frames seem just as hollow and lifeless now than comparable Ti, Al or even metal frames. However, I am very satisfied with my CF rims and handlebars.
