This month’s buildup on the Dodge Momentum index was the first in all of 2020. Since December 2019, the Momentum index has lost 18%, and the peak decline occurred in April, when the COVID-19 pandemic caused company closures across the country. Country. Much of the decline is due to institutional creation plans rather than advertising plans. Revenues from state and local governments have declined as declining economic activity has led to a decline in tax revenues, just as pandemic prices have skyrocketed. The institutional component is lately 28% below its December 2019 peak and 21% below its point a year ago. Business creation plans have fallen by 13% since their January 2020 peak, but they are actually 1% higher than they were a year ago.
In July, thirteen projects worth $100 million or more entered the plan-making process. The main advertising projects were the first two stages of Centene Healthcare’s headquarters in Charlotte, North Carolina, a phase valued at $500 million. The main institutional projects were the $320 million Dignity Health Hospital in Elk Grove, California and the first phase of $155 million from West Henderson Hospital in Henderson NV.
