One part of living in Los Angeles is introducing out-of-town visitors to the things we love about home.
This includes our many herbal wonders, plus iconic parks, the Santa Monica and San Gabriel Mountains, and nature preserves. With 900,000 acres of protected public lands, Los Angeles County offers many opportunities for outdoor adventures.
But where to take grandma? Or your friend who loves iconic sights but hates exercise?I’ve created a comprehensive list for (almost) every single type of out-of-town accommodation you can host. It includes hikes for a wide diversity of ages and fitness levels, and features each and every one of them, from featured filming locations to birding spots.
Before you leave, make sure everyone has a water bottle and a hat. Take sunscreen and don’t stop for snacks on the trails. It’s time to explore Los Angeles beyond the boulevards and boardwalks!
