Did Alfa Romeo tease the next Stelvio?

Alfa Romeo said goodbye to 2024 with a “best of” video that included a little wonder towards the end. The company appears to have brought back LED taillights for the next generation of the Alfa Romeo Stelvio, which is expected to debut in mid-2025.

The continuous LED strip takes the shape of the iconic Scudetto grille and covers a giant tailgate component. Interestingly, this is the first time Alfa Romeo has used the triangular pattern, which looks like a radical evolution of the outgoing model’s taillight graphics. Julia and Stelvio.

Besides the full-width taillights, we also have a hint about the front end of the upcoming SUV. Starting with the Junior that debuted earlier this year, all Alfa Romeo models will feature a shorter version of the Scudetto grille with 3D graphics inspired by Alfa’s emblem.

As confirmed by design boss Alejandro Mesonero-Romanos, future Alfas will also ditch the offset placement of the license plate, something that is required by pedestrian safety regulations.

The next generation of Alfa Romeo Giulia and Stelvio will be powered by the STLA Large platform that already underpins the new Dodge Charger. Although corporate officials only talked about all-electric powertrains, given the current state of the industry, it can be assumed that the Italian company will also offer combustion engine versions, with some form of hybrid assistance.

Earlier this year, former Alfa Romeo CEO Jean-Philippe Imparato suggested that the electric version of the Stelvio could produce up to 986 hp (735 kW / 1,000 PS), making it one of the most powerful SUVs on sale.

According to the latest reports, the new Stelvio will debut in summer 2025, with the mechanically-related Giulia following in 2026.
