People are being sent to places as far away as Wales for coronavirus testing, while officials at a nearby Derby say they do a lot of tests a day.
Derbyshire citizens have struggled to get tested for the coronavirus in recent weeks, and some others were asked to travel more than 60 miles to the nearest centre.
This is despite the fact that there is a control site at Toyota in Burnaston, near Derby, and somewhere else at Proact Stadium in Chesterfield.
The government said it is stepping up testing, aiming to succeed in 500,000 tests a day until the end of October across the UK.
A Toyota employee told Derbyshire Live they were doing up to 260 tests a day.
However, it turns out that this has not yet solved the challenge: when one of our hounds verified the availability of checks for others with a Derby zip code on Wednesday, September 23, they were presented with a check in Leicester, 22 miles away.
When they reviewed the piece an hour later, they were presented with one in Deeside, North Wales, more than 110 kilometres away.
An hour later, when they last reviewed, they won a message saying they had no appointments anywhere and asking for a home review kit.
When one of our reporters sent to the NHS verification and innuendo site that settled at Toyota in Burnaston on the same day, staff revealed how busy things were on the field.
“We do up to 260 tests a day,” one member said.
“It’s normal for a minute, however, there are many other people in the morning when we check out a lot of nurses.
“It’s a road with a lot of trucks, so we have the cones where other people can wait so it doesn’t crash. “
On the site, our reporter saw a steady stream of entries and exits from the site, confirming those claims.

The Department of Health and Social Affairs, which is responsible for administering the NHS Test and Trace programme, said it planned to conduct 500,000 tests a day until the end of October across the UK.
A consistent spokesman conson said: ‘NHS Test and Trace is offering evidence on an unprecedented scale – 225,000 consistent with the day on average during the following week – with the vast majority of other people tested within 10 miles of their homes.
“There has been an increase in calls in recent weeks and the message is clear: only others with symptoms ask for a test.
“We are doing everything we can to succeed in this challenge, adding the creation of new labs capable of handling tens of thousands of checks a day, opening new check sites and checking new immediate checks that will produce results on the site. “
“As we expand our capacity, we will continue to work 24 hours a day so that everyone who wants a check can get it.
