Delivery of Europe’s first Polestar 2 EV car

The pop-up Polestar premium car logo has delivered Europe’s first Polestar 2 electric vehicle (EV) to a visitor at its headquarters in Gothenburg, Sweden.

Although the logo has not yet opened its first Polestar Space store in the UK, more than 8 months after Endeavour Automotive revealed that it would open the first logo store in London, the first sale delivered this week in the Swedish country of the Geely logo.

AM revealed last week that Polestar is also looking for a new leading executive in the UK following Andrew Pilkington’s departure for the Hyundai Genesis high-end car logo.

However, the delivery of the thunder-colored Polestar 2 fastback was celebrated as a key milestone this week.

Receiving his car, which he specified with a vegan coal weaveTech interior, Polestar’s new owner, Sture Stensson, said: “I ordered my Polestar 2 on launch day, this is my first electric vehicle and I fixed solar panels on the roof to make them simple to charge. At home. I have read all the smart reviews in newspapers and online, and I have bought many new cars over the years, however this is the best time to date.

Polestar announced Polestar 2 in an online revelation in early 2019. Despite the COVID-19 coronavirus pandemic, Polestar said the company was running tirelessly to secure a production start at its shared production facility in Luqiao, China, in March. 2020

Thomas Ingenlath, CEO of Polestar, said: “To have succeeded over the demanding production and logistics situations caused by the global pandemic and to be able to offer this product to our consumers when we announce that it is a massive success. The reaction from the press has been incredible and we are creating a real Polestar 2 momentum. »

Polestar’s virtual retail style aims to replace the face of automotive retail. Polestar spaces will be provided in major cities in ten launch markets, and 14 spaces are already open in China, Europe and North America, and approximately 50 Polestar spaces are expected to open in global urban centres by the end of 2020.

Adrian Wallington, executive leader of Endeavour Automotive, unveiled his business plan for London in November last year.

Speaking to AM at last year’s Geneva Motor Show, John Goodman, chief operating officer of the Gothenburg-based premium electric vehicle logo, said the logo had already held conversations with franchisees of its sister Volvo logo and had selected its franchise partners in the UK.

The company said Polestar Spaces allowed consumers to dig deeper into the logo and learn more about cars and the company.

Non-mandatory Polestar specialists have to provide data and advice, while sites also allow consumers to verify the unit.

The grocery shopping address remains virtual and direct with Polestar.

The first Swedish consumers unite through consumers in China and the first Norwegian consumers in the first week of August, after which consumers in Germany, Belgium, the Netherlands and the Uk will start receiving their cars.

Deliveries to Switzerland and North America will continue.
