Englishman Dawid Malan replaced Babar Azam as the world’s T20 hitter in the most recent ICC T20 ranking.
Malan, who still does not have a central contract with the England and Wales Cricket Board, fifth in the previous table, has scored 129 series-leading problems in all 3 meetings with Australia.
After amassing 108 combined in the first two T20s, Malan had a higher average than Virat Kohli, the highest-ranked T20 drummer of all time, his average falling to 48. 71 from his 16 caps after being absent for 21 on Tuesday.
His last highest position at the time of qualifying last year, however, Malan has now surpassed Pakistani captain Babar by 8 points.
Babar, Australian captain Aaron Finch, Indian KL Rahul and New Zealander Colin Munro make up the rest of the sensible five.
Afghan spinner Rashid Khan remains the most sensible ranked T20 bowler, England leg thrower Adil Rashid has moved up two spots to seventh on a more sensible 10 that has only one curling iron – Australian Kane Richardson, 10th.
There is also no replacement in the more sensible classification, with Rashid’s foreign teammate, Mohammad Nabi, forward of Australian Glenn Maxwell, who moved up at the time of Zimbabwean forward Sean Williams.
