DAMD transforms the Suzuki Jimny into Lancia Delta Integrale and R5 Turbo knockoffs

Japanese tuner Damd is known for its conversions of the Suzuki Jimny powered by the Land Rover Defender and Mercedes G-Class, but its most recent versions for the 2024 Tokyo Motor Show put an unexpected, old-fashioned spin on the little SUV. Specifically, the Jinmy transforms into crossover versions of the Lancia Delta Integrale and Renault Five Turbo, with wide-frame kits and OZ Racing alloy wheels.

The theme for Damd’s new modified Jimny is “European Masterpiece”, paying homage to iconic hot hatches from the ’80s. The Little Δ. infuses classic Lancia styling cues into the Jimny although the proportions are very different. Still, the redesigned face with quad round headlights, a chrome grille, and a custom bumper is as close as it gets to the Lancia Delta Integrale.

The profile features wide fender extensions, mimicking the frame kit of the Italian hot hatch. Similarly, the rear inherits Delta’s signature fender for added downforce, fender-mounted air vents, and a frame-colored bumper.

The Little Five kit is similar to the Little Δ. , but adds Rfive-inspired headlights and grille, a blue outer hue, black bumpers, fake-looking air intakes, and another roof spoiler. That’s enough to make it a reproduction of the Rfive. Turbo that would possibly fool no one, but in fact it will attract attention. Damd also added turbo-free stickers to the skins, as a fun nod to Suzuki’s naturally aspirated engine.

Both models are fitted with a new set of alloy wheels developed in collaboration with OZ Racing, making the iconic design compatible with the Jimny’s measurements. Rims are available in race white with red lettering or dark graphite with white lettering and can be purchased separately.

All this extra sportiness is combined with modifications to the Suzuki Jimny’s powertrain or ladder chassis, which remain in their original condition. This means that unconventional “hot crossovers” retain the off-road functions of the donor vehicle.

Optimized Toyota Hiace Defender and Daihatsu Atrai style models

In addition to the two examples of the Suzuki Jimny, Damd will also bring three other cars to Tokyo. These come with the Toyota Hiace ‘Deface’, which adds Land Rover Defender styling details to the popular cab van, giving it a retro, rugged and adventure-ready look.

Finally, the tuner previewed two new versions of the Daihatsu Atrai kei car – the Fuzz Wagon and Fuzz Deckvan. The former is inspired by classic US wagons, featuring square headlights, wood-style decals, light-colored accents, and an intentionally weathered treatment. As for the Deckvan, it is based on the pickup version of the Atrai and features a similar retro-flavored bodykit.

Let’s take a look at the photographs and videos of the aforementioned modified vehicles at the Tokyo Motor Show. This year’s exhibition will take place January 12-14 at Makuhari Messe in Japan.
