DALLAS (AP) – A predominantly black Dallas church active in the “Black Lives Matter” motion alleges that a pro-police rally attempted to intimidate its members through the roar in its parking lot on Sunday afternoon.
Back the Blue Cruise organizers through vans and motorcycle clubs said about 1,000 cars took part in the 100-mile parade in the Dallas-Fort Worth domain on Sunday afternoon. Organizers said a pastor at Friendship-West Baptist Church gave them permission to use their parking lot to rest.
However, church leaders, who present a massive banner of “Black Lives Matter” on their outer wall, said they had been asked to use the parking lot for a “Black Lives Matter” demonstration, not a blue “Back the Event”. .
“The assembly where Americans were temporarily asked to fly Trump flags 2020 and a Confederate flag in our parking lot to arrest and leave,” he said on the church’s website.
“There are seven or maybe 8 mega churches with giant car parks in our area. They chose ours, that’s all I’m going to say,” Pastor Frederick Haynes told KXAS. “We are the only one of the seven or 8 who has a Black Lives Matter subscription. We are the only one whose pastor is absent when it comes to this kind of collection and opposes injustice. So I think the answer is very clear.
Some of the participants at the rally displayed Confederate flags and banners supporting President Donald Trump for re-election.
The demonstration’s co-organizer, Henri Broady, who is black, said there is no goal to disappoint the church or look like a white political or supremacist demonstration, and he believes there is a lack of communication. Fellow organizer Nathan Adams also blamed for a “communication collapse” and apologized “for any misconceptions or misunderstandings or anything else.”
However, some church members responded Sunday with a “Black Lives Matter” demonstration and a march to Dallas police headquarters.
