(RTTNews) – CVS Health Corp. has expanded its COVID-19 program by opening 77 driving checkpoints in Florida.
The opening of these new check sites at some CVS Pharmacy self-service centers on Friday adds to the 221 places opened in the past through CVS Health in Florida. With this, the fitness service provider now has 298 COVID-19 control sites driving through Florida.
However, Florida is experiencing a downward trend in the number of new coronavirus cases in recent days, according to Johns Hopkins University.’ The number of coronavirus cases has been reduced to only one third of cases observed about a week ago.
Including new verification sites, CVS Health has opened more than 1900 COVID-19 verification sites in the United States since May and has expanded its overall capacity.
Swab self-assessments will be available to patients and those who meet CDC criteria, as well as state and age guidelines. Patients should register online in advance to schedule an appointment.
Patients must stay in their car and be directed to the pharmacy window while driving or to a spot in the parking lot of some stores, where they will get a verification kit and instructions. A member of the CVS Pharmacy team will practice the self-hybing procedure to succeed.
However, CVS Health reported that testing will be performed at any of its outlets. CVS Pharmacy, HealthHUB and MinuteClinic will continue to serve consumers and patients.
CVS Health introduced its COVID-19 verification program in March by opening an outdoor pilot site at a CVS pharmacy in Shrewsbury, Massachusetts. Last May, the company said it had opened a total of 1,000 COVID-19 verification sites in more than 30 states and in Washington, DC.
