(RTTNews) – Canadian Pacific Railway Limited (CP, CP. TO) stated that the company and Maersk have signed an agreement to build and operate a transhipment and distribution facility in Vancouver.
CP’s transshipment facility will be an expansion of CP’s existing intermodal facility in Vancouver, taking advantage of turnkey rail infrastructure.
Canadian Pacific indicated that the transhipment facility is designed to implement Maersk’s overall container logistics integration strategy and will provide consumers with access to a multi-product transhipment facility based on the actually extensive use of the truck rail in the Vancouver market.
The import transhipment facility will be operational by 2021, CP in a statement.
