Coronavirus: stealing a motorcycle from a nurse is a ‘kick in the teeth’

Anthony Ndung’u, 30, had completed a 12-hour shift at Nottingham City Hospital when he discovered that his new motorcycle had disappeared.

Ndung’u said riding helped him cope with the long hours of the coronavirus outbreak.

He discovered that his motorcycle, a silver Carerra Crossfire he had bought a few days earlier, had left it on The Fourth of July.

He said: “I was disappointed that my motorcycle was gone.

“I only bought it a few days in advance to stay in shape and found that using it took a step forward in my well-being.

“I was going to start riding a motorcycle [on the hospital site] to go to work, but I never had a chance.”

Sergeant Nicholas Wealthall of the Nottinghamshire police said: “Mr Ndung’u is an example for all of us: running 24 hours a day to treat the sick, selflessly risking our own health to the epidemic.”
