Travelodge, the UK’s largest independent hotel chain, is pleased to announce the start of the structure of its London Chiswick Travelodge. The 113-room hotel will include the group’s restaurant and is adjacent to the Chiswick roundabout, one of London’s finest. well-known road junctions.

London Chiswick Travelodge is the company’s fourth hotel being built in London lately. Travelodge secured an early investment in November 2022 for the progression of the London Chiswick Travelodge. The financial partner, RTP Global Real Estate Investments, purchased and committed to invest the progression for £19. 4 million and retained Travelodge as the project’s progression manager.

Barnes Construction, which has a long-standing partnership with Travelodge and built Travelodge’s London Wimbledon Central Hotel in 2022, has been appointed contractor for the new six-storey development in Chiswick.

The hotel is expected to be completed in the first quarter of 2025 and will be leased to Travelodge on a new 35-year lease, with five-year lease revisions indexed with caps and collars. The London Chiswick Travelodge is evolving into the group’s new premium hotel. design specifications and will be built to BREEAM ‘Excellent’ criteria and with an EPC rating of ‘A’.

The new design of the Travelodge hotel was created as a reaction to feedback from the company’s largest customer research, which surveyed around 5,000 business and leisure travellers in the UK to note the psychographic characteristics of the fashionable budget traveller.

London is a key expansion domain for Travelodge’s progression strategy. A committed team is in a position to secure a hundred more sites across the capital for the opening of a new Travelodge. The expansion programme would more than double Travelodge’s presence in London and could be a multi-billion dollar investment for outside investors and create thousands of new jobs.
