Cape Town – Site C of the Khayelitsha Youth Forum held a discussion on duty among young leaders in an effort to recognize future leaders and traders.

The organization’s assignment manager, Mboneleli Ggirana, said the youth forum had been addressed through the Accountability Lab and invited to organize the discussion to inspire and motivate the network’s women and young men to exemplary leaders who understood the meaning of duty in their respective spaces.

“It’s everything we had in mind to do but unfortunately we couldn’t move on because we were running out of funds. However, as soon as he approached us, we were pleased to do so.”

“Organizing the discussion is not part of what we had to do. We have also been supported in our company through Khaltsha Cycles and Khayelitsha Site C CAN (Community Action Network),” Ggirana said.

He said Khaltsha Cycles donated 10 motorcycles not only to marketers in their commercial enterprises, but also to enable them to practice active citizenship by supporting the elderly and doing errands for citizens recovering from Covid-19.

Sandile Ngwayi, one of the 26-year-old motorcycle beneficiaries, founder and owner of two companies, Ijeje, a meat-courageous company, and Born Ready African Group, a local start-up marketing company.

“Cycling was a welcome addition to wisdom and was shared with us through Site C of the Khayelitsha Youth Forum. I started using mine as soon as I won it.

“I am very grateful for this opportunity and may not be more enthusiastic about my additional business in this mode of transportation. Ijeje delivers stewed meat to our customers, and with the bike, I can do it from time to time.” he said.
