Community Calendar: Learn with the Michiana Brits Auto Show and honor veterinarians with the Fallen Heroes ride

SOUTH BEND, Ind. — Several occasions are scheduled to take a stand Sunday at the Michiana that go straight to a smart cause.

Starting at 8 a. m. , cyclists can use crutches and head to Walmart on Ireland Road in South Bend to register their motorcycles for the annual Fallen Heroes Ride, hosted through American Legion Post 308.

Registration costs $15 for one passenger and $25 for two.

All proceeds from the trip will be distributed to the families of veterans who lost their lives while serving.

The 60-mile journey begins at 11 a. m. from the American Legion post in Osceola at 122 Lincolnway East.

If you’re going to take the kids today and get some education, the 35th annual Michiana Brit Auto Show will be held from 10 a. m. m. a 2 p. m.

Each year, the exhibition brings together around one hundred British-made cars that will be on display at Dalloway’s Clubhouse in St. Mary’s College.

When the show began, it was more aimed at car enthusiasts, but over the years it has had a more familiar occasion.

There will be two-seater cars for young people and there will be food vendors on site.

Organizers also say the exhibit is a smart educational delight for the Michiana community, especially South Bend’s long history with the auto industry.

More data about the display and registered cars can be found here.
