IndyCar drivers Colton Herta and Rinus VeeKay were acquitted of their injuries after both men worried about a horrible twist of fate over the weekend.
On lap 156, the first race of the weekend at the Iowa Speedway, Herta’s No. 88 Honda contacted the rear of VeeKay’s Chevrolet No. 21.
After the collision, Herta took off and floated along the barrier at a speed before landing and sliding on the runway.
The American car has narrowly avoided hitting VeeKay’s head during the incident.

Incredibly, both drivers passed through the medical center soon after and competed in the race of the moment in Iowa on Saturday.
Speaking to NBCSN stand reporter Kelli Stavast, Herta said she did not realize that IndyCar had cancelled the reboot, causing the collision.
“It happened so fast that I wasn’t sure what was going on, but I’m happy to report it, I’m fine,” Herta said.
“No injuries. I feel perfectly and have compatibility to drive (in Saturday’s race).
“I wasn’t told that the reboot had been canceled … I said turn green. I don’t pass the lights when I said green. So that’s what happened. That’s where you pass. I guess they were all given the message. Happy to be okay. »
The 20-year-old shared a video on social media thanking his fans for their messages of support.

“I got back from the medical center and I came back here to the caravan,” Herta said.
“I just wanted to thank you for all the good messages.
“I’m 100 percent fine, excited to get back to normal tomorrow. I’ve been given some pictures to make.
“Unfortunately, what happened. I’m glad I got over it. I’m glad Rinus’s okay and I can’t wait till tomorrow.”
Meanwhile, VeeKay told NBC Sports that he was grateful for the sport’s protective measures that potentially saved him from serious injury.
“I’m very happy, especially with the security … The spray screen was destroyed,” VeeKay said.
“Thanks to IndyCar for the security mobile and let’s move on tomorrow.”
Accidents harm people. Remember that the next time you complain about the aesthetics on your couch, Rinus VeeKay, Colton Herta and Marcus Ericsson will because IndyCar listens to the world’s leading design experts and the considerations of their drivers. Another victory for the aeronautical display when Herta’s car climbs to VeeKay. Herta goes into the air, almost recovered through the fence before a clever shot into the outside wall. Both drivers go out and walk. #IndyCar – Iowa250s
