MARQUETTE – Marquette’s Auto Show, Classic Cars on Third, returns for its eighth year this Saturday. It will take place from 11 a. m. to 3 p. m. h. et on North Third Street between Ohio and Park streets.
This year is unique, said Michael Bradford, director of business promotion and outreach for the Marquette Downtown Development Authority. This year’s Classic Cars on Third show includes not only cars and trucks, but also motorcycles, he said.
Bradford said the car show will commemorate Jessica Drummond, a 22-year-old victim who died in a domestic violence incident in a double murder and suicide in November 2018. All cash raised for this car show will be used to help other victims of domestic violence. at the Marquette Women’s Center.
There will be raffles, money donations, music from a DJ, events and lots of vintage cars and bikes, Bradford said.
“Remember, this is the second year of the social district,” Bradford said. “This way adults can join the occasion and enjoy a beer or another drink. ”
“Our goal is to make $20,000 this year,” said Andrea Numikoski, director of progression at the Women’s Center. “This year we have made some improvements. . . There are vintage motorcycles. . . The Marquette County Health Department is graciously sponsoring the Kids Corner. They will have games, headshots and goody bags. Debaker Farms donated one hundred chocolate milks and strawberry. . . Because, as a women’s center, we want to promote healthy family relationships.
There will also be food vendors at the fair, Spicy Girl Pizza and Boho Winery, Numiksoki said.
For those wishing to demonstrate a car, truck or motorcycle, no registration or payment is required to demonstrate a vehicle.
Simply arrive at the car show between 9:30 and 10:30 AM. m. from Washington Street, heading north on Third Street to the corner of Ohio and Third Streets, where the exhibit begins.
Volunteers will also be available to assist those who find a position for their vehicle.
