CLARKSTOWN, NY — The Clarkstown Police Department announced the closure of Highway 9W due to a falling tree that disrupted power lines. The affected section, closed in directions, extends from Christian Herald Road to Lake Road.
Orange & Rockland Utilities has been informed and is en route to the situation. The police branch will provide updates as soon as the road is safe to reopen.

TOMS RIVER, N. J. – Mayor Rodrick and the Toms River Recreation Department are thrilled to announce the rescheduled concert, now scheduled for Monday, Aug. 12.

Hagerstown, MD – A Hagerstown resident was arrested and charged Wednesday with making violent threats at the Motel 6 where he was staying.
Michael Sean Hafer, 28, allegedly threatened to destroy the hotel at 11321 Massey Boulevard by blowing it up and setting it on fire.
According to authorities, Hafer informed other visitors of his goal of making homemade bombs as part of his threat.
The Washington County Sheriff’s Office responded to those threats around 7:30 a. m. m. , calling the State Fire Marshal’s Bomb Squad office to Hafer’s room and a nearby transient parking unit.
After an exhaustive search, which included obtaining warrants, the government did not find any explosive materials. This led to the conclusion that visitors to the forty-six occupied rooms can safely return.
Hafer was charged with threatening mass violence and two counts of threatened arson and was released on parole from the Washington County Detention Center.
VIRGINIA BEACH, VA – Virginia Beach police, in collaboration with the United States Postal Service and the Hampton Police Department, effectively apprehended an armed mail robbery suspect who had taken position on July 11 in the 3400 block of Dandelion Crescent. Formation
The suspect, known as Cameron Hunter Brown, 27, of Portsmouth, allegedly confronted the mail with a gun and committed the robbery.
Using Flock’s complex license plate reading generation and security camera footage, detectives were to locate the suspect’s vehicle in Hampton, which led to Brown’s arrest on July 17.
Brown has faced several charges, felony evasion
These warrants were served on Aug. 7 while he was already in custody at the Western Tidewater Regional Jail.
Police Chief Paul Neudigate highlighted the role of technology equipment in the investigation, saying such technologies help build law enforcement’s ability to combat violent crime well and ensure network security.
